Cuban actor Jorge Perugorria (Strawberry And Chocolate) and Spanish pop star Lolita Flores have signed on to star in director Miguel Albaladejo's next film Rencor (Resentment) for co-producers Iconica, Zebra, Alta Producciones and Trivision.

Shooting gets underway in Spain on August 20 with co-star Elena Anaya (Sex And Lucia, Fading Memories). Flores and sister Rosario Flores, also a musician and actress who is currently starring in Pedro Almodovar's forthcoming Talk To Her (Hable Con Ella), are the daughters of the late Spanish film and flamenco star Lola Flores.

Rencor tells the story of Chelo's (Flores) attempts to get even with her ex-lover Toni (Perugorria) ten years after their failed relationship left her in ruins. During those ten years Toni, once a small-time crook, has turned his life around to find professional success and a new love.

The film marks Albaladejo's fifth after The First Night Of My Life (La Primera Noche De Mi Vida), Manolito Gafotas, Verbal Attack (Ataque Verbal), and Ten Days Without Love (El Cielo Abierto), all of which were applauded by critics.
