Former Icon Entertainment head of distribution Peter Naish has joined Capitol Films as managing director and will oversee both Capitol and THINKFilm under David Bergstein's growing entertainment empire.

Naish will start work on Apr 30 and will join the team of Capitol head of sales James Norrie and sales manager Sophia Neves, and THINKFilm head of international sales Eve Schoukroun. All three will report to Naish.

The upcoming Cannes sales slate includes John Maybury's The Best Time Of Our Lives, Sharon Maguire's Incendiary, and Sidney Lumet's Before The Devil Knows You're Dead.

'I'm very pleased to be joining Capitol at such an exciting time,' Naish said. 'Capitol has always had a solid foundation as one of the world's leading sales and production companies.

'To be part of the company's ambitious plans to grow, of which the acquisition of THINKFilm was just the start, is a great opportunity and I'm looking forward to working with a hugely experienced and talented team'.

'Peter's experience in the international sales business will be a strong addition to the UK office and we are looking forward to a successful Cannes for both Capitol and THINK,' Capitol chairman Bergstein said.

LA-based Bergstein acquired Capitol in early 2006 and bought THINKFilm earlier this year.
