120 producers from all over Europe have launched the European Motion Picture Producers Association (EMPPA) to act as a networking platform and a lobbying group to represent producer interests vis-a-vis Eurimages and MEDIA Plus as well as push for changes in Germany's Media Decree regulations on international co-productions.
According to EMPPA president Torsten Poeck, the association - which is a successor to a previous network of graduates from the EAVE producer training programme - has received funding from Germany to set up a database of information about members as well as a virtual co-production fair for members to pitch projects to potential production partners.
