Participant Media and Imagenation Abu Dhabi have joined River Road as financiers on Sean Penn and Naomi Watts thriller Fair Game.

Participant and Imagenation Abu Dhabi created a $250m fund in September 2008 to invest in 15-18 features and has established partnerships with National Geographic and Hyde Park Entertainment.

Doug Liman recently wrapped principal photography in New York on , based on the autobiography of real-life undercover CIA operative Valerie Plame.

River Road’s Bill Pohlad is producing with Janet Zucker, Jerry Zucker, Akiva Goldsman, Jez Butterworth, and Liman. Jez and John-Henry Butterworth wrote the screenplay. Summit International holds foreign sales rights.

Participant Media president Ricky Strauss said the project fitted “perfectly” with its mission to effect social change.
