Randolph Paul has joined the Halcyon Company as chief operating officer. He will be based in the Los Angeles office and report to Halcyon co-chief executive officers Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson.

Paul is an experienced executive who was present at the inception of Miramax Films in the 1980s before moving on to Sovereign Pictures in the early 1990s, and Cinergi Productions shortly thereafter.

He has served as an entertainment attorney and company shareholder of Greenberg Traurig as a specialist in technology, media and telecommunications, and has represented producers on titles such as Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines, Nixon, The Grifters, and Cinema Paradiso.

In May 2007 Halcyon acquired all of rights to the Terminator franchise. Warner Bros will release Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins in 2009. Halcyon recently acquired first-look rights to the works of science fiction writer Philip K Dick.
