Spain'sSogepaq has picked up worldwide rights including Spain to a surprise new filmabout - and starring - the Real Madrid football club called Real, The Movie.

Mixing factwith fiction and action from real-life players David Beckham, Zinidine Zidane,Ronaldo and Raul, Real shot across five countries and is aco-production with the mega-club's Real Madrid TV.

Director Borja Manso has just wrapped thefilm which features fictional characters in New York, Caracas, Japan, Senegaland Madrid united by their passion for football, and specifically Real Madrid.

Manso hadfull access to the club's footballing superstars, who play themselves in this$9m production.

"Real Madrid is one of the biggestbrands in the world, not just in the arena of sports, so we expect the filmwill be a big draw especially in 'football countries' in Latin America, Europe,Asia and increasingly the US," said Sogepaq's director of production andinternational Simon de Santiago.

Real Madrid TV co-produced the hush-hushproject with Madrid-based Huckleberry Films. Its premiere will tie in with theteam's international tour this summer.

The film headlines Sogepaq's Cannes slate, which alsoincludes the market debut of Malaga critic's prize-winner 20 Centimeters (20Centimetros), Alex de la Iglesia's Ferpect Crime (CrimenFerpecto) and Alejandro Amenabar's Oscar-winning The SeaInside (Mar Adentro).
