Hi... I'm a UK film actor... but also firmly rooted in the community - it's madness the studios don't go to same date release on all platforms. Film hungry audiences download and watch US releases before UK release. These are people who would willingly pay to see these movies legally!! But because of family or other committeemen can't get into the theaters or miss the ever smaller theatrical windows for anything but the biggest blockbusters!

Cinema is a TOTALLTY different experience to watching at home - cinema is social and popular - cinema goers are going to want to see their films as they should be viewed with their mates if they can - the studios won't lose that audience... it will, if anything just increase the appetite for the 'Real Deal' in the cinemas.

By a reasonable price £20-30 for same day release on video on demand (direct from the studios so they get all the income?!) £20 is a lot of money to ordinary families in the real world... and £10-15 a couple of weeks later. Back catalogs £3.00 ish... Obviously the quality would have to be there so maybe put it on the back of a cable or satellite operator... Sky and Virgin?

Finally... as a non star actor bigger budgets to share around the acting talent and not eaten up by stellar star fees would mean more production and bigger fees for the smaller fish. Talent would rise - a win, win, win situation!!

Studios and actors happy!

Paul Butterworth. (Full Monty Actor)
