Robert Towne will receive the AFI Dallas Star Award in recognition of his career as a film-maker and screenwriter on the 35th anniversary of Chinatown.
The festival also announced ten new additions to the line-up, among them Scott Hamilton's documentary Oscar nominee The Garden, Kazuya Tsurumaki's Japanese anime adaptation Evangelion 1.0 You Are Not Alone, and Jon Gunn's drama Like Dandelion Dust with Mira Sorvino and Barry Pepper.
The lineup includes Derick Martini's drama Lymelife, Carlos Cuaron's drama Rudo Y Cursi, Topaz Adizes' documentary Americana, Charles Biname's thriller The American Trap and three more documentaries: Kief Davidson's Kassim The Dream, James Toback's Tyson, and Ben Kempas' documentary Upstream Battle.
AFI Dallas 2009 will run from March 26-April 2.
