Sapient - a leading creator of new economy businesses - has partnered with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA LA) to sponsor the 10th Annual Britannia Award - now called the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence In Film - which is this year being presented to Steven Spielberg.
The award will be presented to Spielberg at a black tie gala dinner to be held on Sat Nov 4, 2000, at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. During the event, Sapient co-chairmen and co-CEOs Jerry A Greenberg and J Stuart Moore will introduce Sapient Digital Media Sponsorships, a programme currently being developed with select universities to recognise and support young film-makers who are enriching their artistry and craft through the use of new digital technologies.
Previous Britannia Award winners are Kubrick himself, John Travolta, Dustin Hoffman, Harvey & Bob Weinstein, Anthony Hopkins, Martin Scorsese, Peter Ustinov, Michael Caine and Albert "Cubby" Broccoli.
