Blech succeeds Robert Baruc, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities, and will don her buyer’s hat when she attends Toronto next week.

She will oversee the autumn theatrical release of dark comedy The Lie, French action thriller L’Assault and the documentary Jig.

Prior to Screen Media, Blech worked at USA, New Line, Turner, Warner/Elektra/Atlantic and LIVE.

“Suzanne’s strategic and analytical acumen coupled with her passion for independent film and proven track record in theatrical and other platform releasing is precisely why we are proud to name her as president of SMF,” president of Screen Media Ventures Joe Kovacs said.
