Shoreline Entertainment CEO Morris Ruskin has teamed up with former advertising executive Steve Chicorel to form Riptide Entertainment, a new division of horror and action films for worldwide sales.

The first two films from Riptide are based on the Judge Dredd comic book series about law enforcement in an apocalyptic future metropolis. The films will be produced in association with Jason and Chris Kingsley, owners of the comic book 2000AD. Production is set to begin on the films in July 2003 and Ruskin stresses they are not related to the Sylvester Stallone movie of 1995.

Riptide is also focusing on lower budget films such as horror titles Parasite and Centipede.
