Regional broadcaster Star has launched Star Chinese Movies 2, a new channel that will screen Chinese-language films produced from the 1970s to the 1990s.

The channel will draw on Star's library of more than 600 Chinese-language movies produced by Golden Harvest and D&B, among other legendary production houses, and starring idols such as Jet Li, Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan.

It will debut in Singapore on StarHub Digital Cable on January 25 and will be available for audiences in North America on KyLinTV's IPTV platform from February 1.

Titles to be screened on the channel include Enter The Dragon, starring Bruce Lee, Police Story, starring Jackie Chan, and A Better Tomorrow, starring Chow Yun Fat.

Star's existing Star Chinese Movies channel screens newer films sourced from its output deals with leading Hong Kong studios such as Media Asia, Emperor Motion Pictures, JCE Movies, Universe and China Star.

The channel recently produced and broadcast the 44th Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan, which garnered record-breaking ratings.
