The team behind Amelie and Delicatessan have reunited with TF1 International taking on sales on Jean-Pierre Jeunet's next film, Micmacs A Tire-Larigot.

The $42m project starring Dany Boon, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Julie Ferrier, Andre Dussollier and Yolande Moreau, will begin shooting in August.

TF1 International will handle international sales on Jean-Pierre Jeunet's next film, Micmacs A Tire-Larigot. The film is a $42mn project that will begin shooting in August.

The deal was signed on Saturday in Cannes between producers Frederic Brillion and Gilles Legrand of Epithete Film and by Patrick Binet and Nicolas Eschbach on behalf of TF1 International.

The film is produced by Epithete and Jeunet's company Tapioca Films and co-produced by Warner Bros. Pictures France. Warners will release the film in France in the autumn of 2009. TF1 is handling the rest of the world.

Starring Dany Boon, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Julie Ferrier, Andre Dussollier and Yolande Moreau, the film is about a man who lives with a bullet in his head and a 50% chance of living or dying. Along with a cast of touching and original characters, he attempts to get his revenge on the weapons manufacturing companies.

The film reunites Jeunet with TF1's Binet who worked with the director on both Delicatessen and Amelie .

Binet told Screen that TF1 is 'very happy' to be working with Jeunet. Amelie was handled by UGC when Binet was head of the shop there. 'It's sort of in the vein of Amelie . It takes place in a slightly off-kilter universe with Dany Boon playing an idealist. It's a real feel-good movie.' Jeunet himself recently referred to the project as 'a comedy about a serious subject.'

Pre-sales will start next year, Binet told Screen. The shoot runs from August 11 to December 15.

For Micmacs , Jeunet is keeping his usual team in tact with co-writer Guillaume Laurant, costume designer Madeline Fontaine, production designer Aline Bonetto and cinematographer Tetsuo Nagata who recently shot La Vie En Rose.
