Paris-based sales agent Wide Management has picked up international distribution rights for Swiss director Lionel Baier's Un Autre Homme which had its world premiere in Locarno's International Competition at the weekend.

The co-production by Saga Production with the French speaking Swiss public broadcaster Television Suisse Romande and SRG SSR will be released theatrically in Switzerland by JMH Distribution.

The light-hearted yet very sharp social satire has been hailed by many local critics as one of the highlights of this year's International Competition and confirmation of Baier as one of the most talented filmmakers working in Switzrland today.

His previous films - Stupid Boy (Garcon Stupide) and Stealth (Comme des Voleurs) - are both handled internationally by Philippe Tasca's Rendez-Vous Pictures.

Meanwhile, Christine Dollhofer, director of the Crossing Europe festival in Austria's Linz, told ScreenDaily.com exclusively that Baier and fellow Swiss filmmaker Ursula Meier (Home) will be the subject of two tributes at the next edition of her festival (April 20-26, 2009) when the city of Linz is a European Capital of Culture.
