Sundance Institute’s Film Forward: Advancing Cultural Dialogue programme travels to Imperial Valley and Mexicali Apr 30 to May 4.

Ten filmmakers from the US and abroad will participate in screenings, extended Q&A’s, workshops and master classes at Universities in multiple cities.

“Based on the success of our recent documentary lab in Imperial Valley, we know that there is a very engaged and enthusiastic public in the area, we look forward to sharing this group of films with them,” Sundance Institute executive director Keri Putnam said.

“The films in the Film Forward program beautifully illustrate the common humanity and concerns of all of us across all boundaries and we hope to continue building cultural bridges which encourage discourse, the creation of new ideas and a meaningful cross-cultural dialogue.”

The ten films selected illustrate coming-of-age stories, exploring identity and reveal the transformation process, both political and personal.
