FranchisePictures and Warner Bros' comedy The In-Laws, which stars Michael Douglas and AlbertBrooks, will receive its world premiere at the second Tribeca Film Festival onMay 10, co-founders Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal announced today (Apr 3).

The picturefollows the uneasy relationship between two prospective fathers-in-law whosechildren are to be married. Douglas plays a secret agent and father of thegroom, whose style unnerves Brooks' straight-laced chiropodist and fatherof the bride.

The In-Laws was directed by Andrew Fleming and co-writtenby Andrew Bergman, Nat Mauldin and Ed Solomon. Robin Tunney, Ryan Reynolds andCandice Bergen co-star.

'We areexcited to feature The In-Laws as our Saturday Night Gala Premiere at the festival,'Rosenthal said in a statement. 'It is a wonderful, fun film for us topremiere and we are thrilled to have Franchise Pictures and Warner Bros join usagain this year.'

The 2003Festival is scheduled to take place in various locations throughout lowerManhattan from May 3-11.

As reportedpreviously on Screendaily (Mar 26), this year's expanded festival willinclude more than 200 premiere screenings as well as panel discussions andfilm-maker events.

The FamilyFestival has been expanded to cover two weekends (May 3-4 and May 10-11), andthe outdoor Rock & Comedy Concert will return.
