It also took nominations in actress film for Shirley Henderson, and two for Jones: director fiction and writer film/television.

Mullan is also among the previously announced audience award nominees, for his I Swear performance.

Earlier today Bafta contacted members about changes to its live events procedures ahead of the Bafta Scotland ceremony on Sunday, November 15 in Glasgow. John Davidson, who has Tourette Syndrome with involuntary verbal tics and whose story is told in I Swear, will watch the ceremony via video link from a separate, relaxed space, at Davidson’s suggestion.

Further nominations include Lucy Halliday, a 2024 Screen Star of Tomorrow, nominated in both actress film for California Schemin’ and actress television for The Testaments.

Documentary Everybody To Kenmure Street received two nods, in director factual for Felipe Bustos Sierra and feature film; while Midwinter Break took two, in actress film for Lesley Manville and writer film/television for Bernard MacLaverty and Nick Payne.

The TV nominations included three each for Dept. Q and Dinosaur. The recipient of the honorary Bafta Special Award for outstanding contribution to film, games or television will be announced ahead of the ceremony.

“These nominations are a reminder of just how much creative talent we have across Scotland, both on screen and behind the scenes,” said Dani Carlaw, chair of Bafta Scotland. “Every project takes people with vision and determination to make it happen.”
