Solution Entertainment Group has been touting the Simon Pegg comedy Hector And The Search For Happiness to international buyers here.
Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel’s company holds worldwide rights to Berlin-based Egoli Tossell Film and Vancouver’s Screen Siren Pictures’ upcoming story about a disillusioned psychiatrist who embarks on a quest for contentment.
Peter Chelsom will direct and adapted François Lelord’s bestseller with Tinker Lindsay.
Production is expected to get underway once Pegg has wrapped filming on The World’s End.
“I’ve been searching long and hard for a film that would bring me back to my European sensibilities,” Chelsom said.
“Not unlike Being There and Forrest Gump, Hector is a contemporary love story, a fable wrapped around a very human hero’s journey. Nobody does the innocent abroad better than Simon Pegg: he is not only a brilliant comedian but a very touching actor.”
