THINKFilm is reuniting with its Half Nelson partners Silverwood Films and Hunting Lane Films on the drama Blue Valentine, which marks the first time THINKFilm will fully finance a feature.

Filming is set to begin in February with Silverwood's Lynette Howell and Hunting Lane's Jamie Patricof and Alex Orlovsky serving as producers. Howell's partner, Doug Dey, will serve as executive producer. THINKFilm will finance, distribute and sell internationally.

Casting is underway on the project, which will be directed by Derek Cianfrance from a screenplay he wrote with Cami Delavigne and Joey Curtis about a troubled contemporary American marriage.

The narrative has been designed to unfold in two distinct time frames, juxtaposing scenes of first love and youthful sexuality with the ensuing tapestry of disenchantment and discord.

Cianfrance hails from a commercials and documentary background and his script won the Chrysler Film Project overseen by IFP.

'This is a wonderful script, with two terrific leading roles, and these film-makers can certainly be trusted to make it come to thrilling cinematic life,' THINKFilm's theatrical head Mark Urman said.

Urman, senior vice president of acquisitions and business affairs Randy Manis and director of acquisitions Ben Stambler negotiated the deal with Graham Taylor of Endeavor Independent on behalf of the producers.

Los Angeles-based Taylor played an integral role in the arrangement between the producers and The Chrysler Film Project which, in addition to providing equity, will support the film with P&A

Silverwood's credits include Stephanie Daley and the recently completed Phoebe In Wonderland staring Felicity Huffman, Patricia Clarkson, Elle Fanning, Campbell Scott and Bill Pullman. Upcoming projects include the psychological thriller and 2929 Films co-production Villain.

Hunting Lane Films is currently filming Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden's Sugar and is in prost-production on Momma's Man. The documentary Confessions Of A Superhero is due to open in theatres this autumn.
