Ed Pressman already confirmed as jury president.

The Tokyo International Film Festival (Oct 22-30) announced the members of the competition jury for the 24th edition today.

Joining previously confirmed jury president Edward R. Pressman are producer Kees Kasander, actress Fan Bingbing, director Masahiro Kobayashi, and special effects makeup artist Reiko Kruk.

Prolific producer Pressman previously served as president of the jury for the young cinema competition at the 4th of edition of TIFF in 1991.

With a background in film festivals, Kasander is best known for producing many of Peter Greenaway’s films and Andrea Arnold’s award-winning Fish Tank.

Chinese actress Fan Bingbing [pictured] won best actress for her role in Buddha Mountain at last year’s TIFF.

Japanese director Kobayashi’s 2005 film Bashing competed in Cannes and 2007’s The Rebirth won four prizes at Locarno, while sibling drama Women on the Edge screens in TIFF’s three-film “Overcoming the Disaster” section.

Based in Paris, Reiko Kruk provided makeup for Werner Herzog’s Nosferatu and has worked with French directors Claude Lelouch and Claude Chabrol.

In light of the March earthquake and nuclear disaster the announcement came later than usual due to delays in securing a minimum 10-day commitment from overseas members.

TIFF secretary general Nobushige Toshima updated ScreenDaily on the situation: “Although the longer stay period made securing jury members more difficult, invitations for people attached to films or other guests of TIFF have gone smoothly.”
