David Trueba's romanticdrama Bienvenido A Casa will have its world premiere asthe inaugural film atthe upcoming 9th annual Spanish Film Festival ofMalaga (March 17-25).

A co-production of Fernando Trueba and Antena 3 Television's Ensueno Films stars up-and-coming actors Pilar Lopez de Ayala and Alejo Sauras as a young couple undergoing a difficult period intheir relationship.

Much of the supporting cast, led by Ariadna Gil, Juan Echanove andJorge Sanz, play journalists at a magazine where themale protagonist finds a job.

Trueba's last film, Soldiers Of Salamina(Soldados De Salamina),played in Un Certain Regard in Cannes 2003. BienvenidoA Casa (literally, Welcome Home) is Trueba'sfourth film after Soldiers, The Good Life (La BuenaVida) and Masterpiece (Obra Maestra). He has also collaborated on scripts for hisbrother, Oscar-winning director Fernando Trueba,including the English-language Two Much.

Also this year at Malaga, newly moved forward tothe March dates, veteran director Fernando Colomowill be the recipient of a retrospective. Scriptwriter Rafael Azcona will take the career achievement Ricardo Francoprize, while singer-actress Ana Belen will receive the Malaga Prize.

Malagaruns three internationalmarkets: the Market Screenings for features films (March 23-25); anddocumentary market Mercadoc and the TV Market, whichwill maintain their April 26-29 dates.

New prizes created for the upcoming 9 th addition include best supporting actorand actress, best new scriptwriter and public prizes for the TV Movies andLatin American Territory sections.
