The UK's National Film and Television School (NFTS) has set up a new scholarship programme for Chinese students to study in Britain.
The award, which was unveiled in Shanghai by NFTS director Stephen Bayly, is worth $21,000 ($15,000) and will allow a film student from China to attend a one-year Advanced Programme, a project-based course for film graduates.
Backing for the award comes from the Chevening Programme and is sponsored by the UK's Department of Culture Media & Sport, the BBC, Granada Media and Pearson Television.
The NFTS is one of Europe's leading media training schools and, uniquely, is funded by government and industry.
