King Arthur raised its international running total by $11.3m to $31.9mthrough Buena Vista International (BVI) at the weekend, powered by a strongnumber one opening in the UK.

Boasting three British leads in Clive Owen, KeiraKnightley and Ioan Gruffudd, the Arthurian legend grossed $3.5m from 400screens in the UK.

It recorded several other number one debuts, including $906,000 on109 screens in Thailand, $525,000 on 106 in the Netherlands, $474,000 on 20 inDenmark, and $430,000 on 42 in Belgium.

With several major markets yet to open, King Arthur's international performance looks likelyto pass its dismal domestic gross.

Unusually for apicture produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the $100m-plus production flopped at theNorth American box office and has crawled to $48.5m since opening on July 7.
