Universal's TheHulk took $16.4m from 3,316 printsin 21 territories over the weekend, bringing its total so far to $38.73m with27 countries to open. It opened number one in both France, Spain and Belgiumand is set to open in the UK on July 18, in Japan on Aug 2 and China inSeptember.

In France, it opened onWednesday with a single day total of $1.2m, the fourth biggest opening day forUniversal in the market. Its weekend total of $4.4m at 692 theatres was thestudio's eighth biggest opening in France.

In Spain, it opened on 488prints for a total gross of $2.8m and marked the studio's sixth highestopening in the territory. It was the fourth biggest opening in Belgium forUniversal, where it grossed $0.577m at 79 theatres.

The Hulk'sGerman opening was less impressive. It came in at number two behind BruceAlmighty with a $1.8m gross from 519 sites. In Austria, it grossed $0.364m at89 theatres for the number one slot.

In Korea, it was numberthree after local smash Defending First Love and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle with a $1.5m take from 149 prints.

The film was number four inAustralia ($0.96m from 223) off 54% from last weekend's opening; numberthree in New Zealand ($0.154m from 54); number two in Mexico ($1.7m from 340for a total of $8.5m) and number two in Brazil behind Finding Nemo ($0.6m from 175).

Universal also scored $5.6mfrom 2 Fast 2 Furious over theweekend to bring its international total to $65.27m to date, already betterthan the international total of The Fast And The Furious ($62.6m).
