The regional screen agency has made the move in preparation for the launch of Creative England.

Manchester based regional screen agency Vision & Media has announced a compulsory redundancy plan for 40% of its employees, as part of its move towards becoming part of new body Creative England.

The announcement follows a period of change for the agency, after its CEO Alice Morrison left in December, to be replaced by Paul Taylor.

Along with the other regional screen agencies, Vision And Media is to have much of its funding cut at the end of the financial year, in preparation for the launch of Creative England in October this year.  The new body will have three “hubs”, one of which is expected to be in Manchester.

Taylor said: “This down-sizing of the company, will allow us to continue beyond 1st April and gives us the flexibility to then re-shape later in the year in to the new role within Creative England.”

The changes will be effective from 31st March 2011.
