Longtime The Weinstein Company publicists Dani Weinstein and Sara Serlen have left to join ID PR as senior vice-president and vice-president, respectively.

CEO Kelly Bush and COO Mara Buxbaum announced that the pair will lead ID’s film department from its New York office. Their departure served to further cloud the profile of The Weinstein Company.

Harvey Weinstein’s awards season roster this season is the strongest he has assembled in years, with Toronto world premiere The King’s Speech from Tom Hooper, Julian Schnabel’s Miral, Amir Bar-Lev’s documentary The Tillman Story, and Sam Taylor-Wood’s Nowhere Boy.

ID PR recently promoted Carrie Byalick, Jodi Gottlieb and BeBe Lerner to senior vice-president and brought in two New York hires in the shape of Randi Peck as vice-president in entertainment and brand strategies and Rhett Usry as a Senior publicist with a focus on music and talent.

Weinstein and Serlen, along with ID’s existing Film department, will continue to work on release campaigns and represent The Weinstein Company on a number of their titles.

“Today’s news allows us to continue to expand and develop our capabilities, as well as reinforce our commitment to our clients, colleagues and the team at large,” Bush said. “We’re very excited about the future.”
