In the adapted screenplaycategory, Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman are nominated for American Splendor, Anthony Minghella for Cold Mountain, FranWalsh, Philippa Boyens and Peter Jackson for The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King, Brian Helgeland for Mystic River and Gary Ross for Seabiscuit.
Overall 188 films wereeligible for nomination with 110 in the original screenplay category and 78 foradapted screenplay.
The 56th Writers GuildAwards will be presented at a ceremony in Los Angeles on Feb 21.
