WME will represent of the official life rights of the 33 Chilean miners who famously survived 69 days trapped 2,000 feet below ground following a cave collapse.

The agency will seek to exploit rights across film, television, books, commercials, theatre and lectures.

The deal includes complete access to the daily journal kept by one of the miners throughout his ordeal, which last from Aug 5 to Oct 12 2010. Until now, there has been no authorised account of the miners’ stories.

WME will work closely with the law firm Arent Fox on behalf of the miners and Chile-based law firms Carey Y Cia and Remberto Valdes.
