Los Angeles-based Eleven Arts has picked up international rights to Vampire Girl Vs. Frankenstein Girl.

The is highly anticipated by splatter fans as it reunites the director and star of last year’s cult hit Tokyo Gore Police.

The film is scheduled for completion at the end of this month and has already been accepted into three festivals – the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan), Montreal Fantasia Film Festival and the New York Asian Film Festival.

Produced by Tokyo-based Excellent Films and Pony Canyon, the film is scheduled for release in Japan on August 18. Yukie Kawamura and Eri Otoguro star as the eponymous heroines.

Meanwhile, Eleven Arts has also taken over sales of its own English-language production Harimaya Bridge, which was co-produced with Japan’s Laterna and Korean TV producer SSD.

Directed by Aaron Woolfolk and starring Danny Glover, Ben Guillory and Saki Takaoka, the film follows the story of an African-American man who travels to rural Japan to claim some important items belonging to his late son. Laterna parent company T-Joy will release the film in Japan on June 13.
