Adriene Bowles has been promoted to president of worldwide publicity and executive vice president of marketing at Focus Features.

The appointment expands Bowles' remit - she previously worked in the company's domestic division as executive vice president of publicity and marketing - and gives her a more proactive role in establishing film-maker and talent relationships.

Her publicity campaign credits include Lost In Translation, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, The Motorcycle Diaries, The Pianist, The Constant Gardener, and Brokeback Mountain.

'From day one in Focus' history, Adriene has been a core contributor to establishing the company's reputation,' chief executive officer James Schamus said. 'This promotion is richly deserved, given her terrific instincts for crafting creative and inspired campaigns for our films and film-makers. She is among the best in our business.'

Prior to joining Focus at its inception in spring 2002, Bowles served as executive vice president, publicity and marketing at USA Films. Before that she worked for Gramercy Pictures as vice president of field marketing and promotions.
