Alexis Dos Santos has started principal photography in the UKthis week for his second film, Unmade Beds.

The project, which will shoot for five weeks in London and Nottingham, stars Deborah Francois, Fernando Tielve, Michiel Huisman, Iddo Goldberg and Richard Lintern.

The story follows a man who arrives in London from Spain on a quest to find his biological father. He meets a Belgian girl having romantic ups and downs.

Soledad Gatti-Pascual of The Bureau will produce with Peter Ettedgui.

Film4 backed the development and is also financing with the UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund and EM Media, with assistance from Natixis Coficine.

Argentina native Dos Santos, an NFTS graduate, made his debut with the acclaimed Glue. He developed Unmade Beds during the Cannes Cinefondation in Paris in 2006.

'Alexis stood out as a startling new cinematic voice when we started developing this project with him even before his first feature Glue,' says Film4's Peter Carlton. 'It's great to see this fresh and witty story of contemporary melting-pot London being brought to realisation with such a sparkling young international cast.'
