Los Angeles-based American World Pictures (AWP) has boarded international rights to Alan Cumming's solo directorial debut Ghost Writer (aka Suffering Man's Charity) and will begin sales at AFM.

Cumming stars in the comedy-horror film as a predatory music teacher who attempts to take the credit for a book written by a deceased former acquaintance.

David Boreanaz and Henry Thomas also star and there are cameos by Anne Heche, Karen Black, Carrie Fisher and Jane Lynch. Tom Gallagher wrote the screenplay and Cumming served as executive producer.

The film played in official selection at the Philadelphia Film Festival and SXSW this year, and will screen at AFM on Nov 1.
