Hooper boosts Oscar chances with DGA win for The King's Speech

Tom Hooper won the Director’s Guild Of America top feature prize for The King’s Speech on Saturday night [29].

Charles Ferguson won the documentary award for his financial crisis film Inside Job.

The DGA feature award is an accurate barometer of Academy Awards success; only six times since the award’s inception in 1948 has the winner not gone to claim the Oscar for best director.
