G.I. Joe targets $125m international box office
G.I. Joe: Retaliation rules the international roost and the action adventure looks a good bet to maintain winning ways heading into its second weekend.
Paramount Pictures International ensured that Paramount, MGM and Skydance Productions’ film dominated its opening weekend thanks to an estimated $80.3m debut and Retaliation will have little trouble coasting past the $125m mark by Sunday.
Meanwhile DreamWorks Animation’s The Croods had raced to $150.4m by Apr 1 through Fox International and arrives this weekend in Poland, Taiwan and Thailand.
Fox International opened Running Man-Kor in South Korea, Hitchcock in Italy and Japan, Stoker in Mexico and Danny Boyle’s Trance in Australia, Russia and New Zealand. A Good Day To Die Hard has grossed $231.4m.
Universal Pictures International rolls out Jurassic Park 3D in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Lebanon, Russia, Ukraine and the UAE, day-and-date with North America.
