Alan Cumming and Rebecca Romijn will reunite after X2 to star in Hatter.

James Killough wrote the script and will make his feature film directorial debut.

Killough will also produce with Angad Paul; Paul's UK-based company AV Pictures is handling sales.

Cumming and Romijn will play Matt Hatter and Alice Allyson in Hatter, an updated take on the Mad Tea Party from Alice In Wonderland. Cumming plays a hedonistic fashion designer and Romijn plays a journalist who tries to expose his tainted past.

The project starts shooting in spring 2008 in Eastern Europe. Kathy Rain Li will serve as cinematographer.

'Hatter is not just meant to be a thrilling and engaging cinematic experience,' says Killough. 'We will create a sumptuous visual feast, something that has never been seen before on screen.'

AV Pictures' AFM slate also includes Black Water, Daylight Robbery, Flick and The Tournament.
