With this year’s European Film Market now under way in Berlin, plenty of new projects and updates have made their way onto Screenbase.

Lena Headey will play a grieving mother who starts to suffer attacks of blindness in Gary Sinyor’s drama The Unseen.  It will commence principal photography in late spring with UK’s Magnet Films and Ireland’s Ripple World Pictures producing. Executive producers are David Frost and Michael Rosenberg, who also wrote the screenplay. Shooting will take place in the Balearics.

In September, John Michael McDonagh plans to shoot his follow up to last year’s The Guard. Calvary centres on a priest who is victimised by members of his community and Brendan Gleeson, Aidan Gillen and Chris O’Dowd are confirmed to star. McDonagh also wrote the screenplay and the $7m production will be produced by Reprisal Films. Protagonist Pictures has acquired worldwide rights and is taking it for pre-sales to Berlin.
