IFC Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to Joe Swanberg and Greta Gerwig's SXSW entry Nights And Weekends.

The follow-up to IFC's 2007 release Hannah Takes The Stairs received its world premiere at the Austin, Texas, festival on Mar 9.

Nights And Weekends follows a remote couple as their disparate lives in New York and Chicago takes its toll. Swanberg and Gerwig star alongside Elizabeth Donius, Jay Duplass, Lynn Shelton and Kent Osborne. Dia Sokol and filmscience's Anish Savjani produced.

'We couldn't be more thrilled to be working with Joe and Greta for the second time in two years,' IFC Entertainment's Jonathan Sehring said. 'As film-makers and actors, they possess a unique gift for exploring relationships in ways that few American independents dare to.'

Lizzie Nastro, director of acquisitions and co-productions for IFC Entertainment, negotiated the deal with Anish Savjani of filmscience on behalf of the film-makers.
