The Indian Film Company has acquired worldwide rights to Imtiaz Ali's new film, produced by Shree Ashatavinayak Cine Vision.

The film - as yet untiltled until the results are tallied from a consumer poll - is a musical romantic comedy set in North India. Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor star and Pritam composed the score.

IFC 's deal includes domestic and international rights for theatre and home entertainment together with the music, satellite and all other ancillary rights including digital, wireless and new media rights.

Sandeep Bhargava said: 'We are delighted to have acquired the worldwide rights to this film, which has been the subject of much discussion within the Industry. The acquisition is in line with our stated objective of creating a portfolio of films across different genres and languages.'
