Leading London-based talent agency ICM is changing its name to Independent Talent Group, or Independent. The change follows 2002's management buyout from ICM Inc.

The change reflects 'the group's true independence from ICM Inc. in the USA and is also to obviate confusion in the marketplace,' the company said.

Independent represents actors, directors, writers, producers/production companies, casting directors, models, presenters, and below-the line personnel such as cameramen and editors.

Chairman Duncan Heath said:'I am delighted to be announcing our new name, Independent. We always knew that we would change our name following the management buyout. We chose the name Independent as it mirrors the reality that we created in completing our MBO, and also is a reflection of the spirit of the company and the fact that we control our own destiny. I am incredibly proud of the team that we have built. We have a tremendously cohesive group of terrific agents. We are proactive and have a distinctive and unrivaled understanding of the
global entertainment industry today and enabling us to provide a comprehensive, specialised and highly individual service for our clients.'
