Follow-up to The Housemaid will be about a man who is hired by a rich family to take care of their private affairs and business.

Major Korean investor/distributor Sidus FNH is set to finance and distribute The Housemaid director Im Sang-soo’s next film, tentatively titled The Taste of Money.

A Cannes competition film last year, The Housemaid was sold to more than 20 territories including pre-sales to Pretty Pictures for France. Mirovision was the international sales agent while Sidus FNH invested and distributed locally. The film was one of the top ten Korean films at the local box office last year with 2.3 million admissions.

The Taste of Money is about a man who is hired by a rich family to take care of their private affairs and business. It is an erotic suspense film which depicts what the man observes in the family - a history of greed, power, money and love.

Im Sang-soo’s production company Filmpasmal is producing the film, with plans to start production in the middle of this year.

Sidus FNH is investing while also handling local distribution and international sales.

Juyoung Park, head of International Investment & Distribution at Sidus FNH said, “We are very excited to work with Im Sang-soo once again after The Housemaid, which was a tremendous success worldwide. He is one of the greatest filmmakers working today, whose films are both commercial and original at the same time.”

Sidus plans to launch pre-sales on the film at the upcoming European Film Market. Other films on the company’s slate include Countdown, starring Cannes best actress award winner Jeon Do-yeon; the upcoming period action thriller The Showdown produced by Bidangil Pictures, the producers of The Chaser; and Villain & Widow, a comic noir film by Son Jae-gon, the director of My Scary Girl.
