Los Angeles-based MPCA has added Tim Allen’s directorial debut Crazy On The Outside to its Cannes slate in which Allen stars alongside Sigourney Weaver, Ray Liotta and Jeanne Tripplehorn.

The family comedy will receive its market premiere and MPCA’s Brad Krevoy and Francisco Gonzalez will handle international sales.

J K Simmons, Kelsey Grammer and Julie Bowen round out the key cast in the tale of an ex-con who tries to balance the demands of his eccentric family as he falls for his probation officer.

Tim Allen’s Boxing Cat Entertainment produced Crazy On The Outside. Brett Gregory, Brian Reilly and Anastasia Stanecki served as producers and Justin Moritt and Richard Baker were executive producers.

“After 20 years of stand-up, it was a great experience to utilise my timing skills in directing this film,” Allen, who last appeared on the big screen in the hit comedy Wild Hogs, said. Allen is currently working on the third installment of the Toy Storyfranchise and the sequel to Wild Hogs.

“We are thrilled to be working with Tim and everybody at Boxing Cat,” Krevoy, who served as executive producer on with Disney’s 1997 family comedy Jungle 2 Jungle starring Allen, said. “Tim has created the perfect family comedy with a superb cast.”

William Morris’ Cassian Elwes and Danny Greenberg negotiated the deal on behalf of Boxing Cat with Gonzalez and Reuben Liber on behalf of MPCA.
