Over 100 films from Pathé’s catalogue to be restored over the next five years.

Pathé have launched a major digitisation and restoration project of its back catalogue.

Over 100 films from its catalogue will benefit from the restoration, which is set to take place over the next five years. Pathé’s catalogue contains over 700 feature films, including the likes of Valmont by Milos Forman (1989) [pictured], The Toy by Francis Veber (1976) and The Night Affair by Gilles Grangier (1958), as well as silent films such as At 3:25 by René Clair (1923).

Eclair Group and L’Immagine Ritrovata will provide most of the technical expertise for the project, which follows Pathé’s recent restorations of Tess by Roman Polanski (1979), Children of Paradise by Marcel Carné (1945), Les Misérables by Raymond Bernard (1934) and Boudu Saved from Drowning by Jean Renoir (1932).
