American director to receive the Knight of the Order of the Raven award at the festival, which runs April 5-17.

William Friedkin will receive the Knight of the Order of the Raven award at the 30th edition of the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF).

The award is one of the festival’s top honours and is in recognition of Friedkin’s career in genre film. Previous recipients include John Landis, Lance Henriksen and Christopher Lloyd.

Another former recipient Lloyd Kaufman will be hosting a masterclass (‘Make our own damn movie!’) at the festival on April 10. Kaufman received the award in 2007.

Full details of the 30th BIFFF, which runs April 5-17, will be revealed on March 9.
