The Cannes Film Festival has announced that director Pascale Ferran will head up the jury for the Un Certain Regard sidebar at this year's event, which runs May 16-27.

Ferran has been to the festival before, having been selected with her 1990 short film Le Baiser followed by La Sentinelle in 1992 (for which she wrote the screenplay). In 1994 she won the Camera d'Or for her feature directorial debut Petits Arrangements Avec Les Morts.

Ferran's 2006 film Lady Chatterley won the prestigious Louis Delluc Prize as well as taking home the Cesar Award for Best Film.

About 20 films will run in the Un Certain Regard section this year with titles to be announced on April 19.
