The Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) has announced its full line-up, including the world premiere ofVito Rocco's Faintheart at the closing night gala on June 29.

The romantic comedy, starring Eddie Marsan and Jessica Hynes, is set in the world of Viking battle re-enactments and follows a man's efforts to win back his wife.

The 62nd edition of the EIFF will showcase 142 feature films from 29 countries, including 113 new features, of which 15 are world premieres.

The festival will open on June 18 with the previously announced world premiere of The Edge Of Love, directed by John Maybury and starring Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller.

With British films asboththe opening and closing night galasa strong turn out of stars is expected.

Sir Sean Connery and recent Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton, both patrons of the festival, will also be attending this year.

Other highlights include Disney/Pixar's new film Wall-E, which will screen as the family gala; Shane Meadows' Somers Town and Duane Hopkins' Better Things both in the British gala section; Brad Anderson's Transsiberian and Isabel Coixet's Elegy both screening in the gala section and a special preview of Terence Davies' Of Time And City.

Previously announced documentaries Encounters At The End Of The World, by Werner Herzog, Man On A Wire by James Marsh and Errol Morris' Standard Operating Procedure will also screen.

Mark Doherty's A Film With Me In It will also see its world premiere at the festival while Jose Padilha's Elite Squad (Tropa D'Elite), Ira Sachs' Married Life, Bharat Nalluiri's Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day and Jonathan Levine's The Wackness will all feature at the festival.

Films competing for EIFF's Michael Powell Award include the UK premiere of Oliver Blackburn's Donkey Punch and world premieres of Charles Martin Smith's Stone Of Destiny, Kenny Glenaan's Summer, Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor's Helen and Matthew Thompson's Dummy.

UK films will also be eligible for the PPG Award for Best Performance in a British Film and the Standard Life Audience Award.
