Robert Garlock, the well-known New York-based publicist has died at the age of 41 of complications from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was most recently head of the talent division at 42West where he represented clients including Penelope Cruz, Hugh Grant, Clive Owen, Uma Thurman, Sigourney Weaver, Hilary Swank and Kate Winslet,

Garlock had become a partner in 42West after 16 years at PMK/HBH where he worked on campaigns for over 40 features including Pulp Fiction, Four Weddings And A Funeral, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The English Patient and The Hours.

He began his career while still at NYU, Tisch School Of The Arts, as a marketing intern for Warner Bros and had stints at Spectra Films and Orion Pictures before joining PMK.

He leaves behind his parents Richard and Betty Garlock of Canton, Ohio, brother and sister-in-law Thom and Karen Garlock of Jackson, Wyoming, brother and sister-in-law Tim and Lori Garlock and nephew Jacob Garlock of Canton, Ohio. Other family members include his uncle and aunt Ted and Tina Hannay and cousins Cara Stanley of Salem, Ohio and Patty Ludy of Carrollton, Ohio.

A private funeral service will take place this week in Ohio and a memorial service is being planned for later in the year in New York City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of choice.
