Pyramide International has concluded a US sale on Berlin competitor Irina Palm. Sam Gabarski's Marianne Faithfull vehicle has gone to Strand Releasing as well as having sold to nearly 40 other territories.

Pyramide is in Cannes with seven films in selection including Catherine Breillat's competition debut An Old Mistress.

Other titles include Jane Birkin's Boxes in an out-of-competition screening as part of the 60th anniversary tribute to Cannes; All Is Forgiven by Mia Hansen-Love and France by Serge Bozon in the Fortnight; In Your Wake by David Oelhoffen, XXY by Lucia Puenzo and Jellyfish by Shira Geffen and Etgar Keret in Critics' Week.

Continuing to work with such confirmed talent as Youssef Chahine, Stephane Brize and Jacques Doillon, Pyramide is also focusing on new blood with the likes of Catherine Castel and Annemarie Jacir. The former is an actress whose directorial debut, 48 Hours A Day, is currently in pre-production. The $6.8m film stars Aure Atika, Antoine de Caunes, Victoria Abril and Catherine Jacob and will be ready for delivery in January 2008.

Jacir's The Salt Of This Sea is shooting now on a $1.6m budget and will be ready in February 2008.

Pyramide Distribution has also taken competition titles The Banishment from Intercinema and Fatih Akin's The Edge Of Heaven, sold by The Match Factory.
