Scott Hamilton Kennedy's The Garden won the SILVERDOCS Sterling US Feature Award and Tia Lessin and Carl Deal's Trouble The Water earned a special jury mention.

Geoffrey Smith's The English Surgeon won the Sterling World Feature Award and a special mention went to Chao Gan's The Red Race.

In the Sterling Short Award category Jan Zabeil's What Would The Drop Know About That' emerged triumphant and an honourable mention went to Marlene Schiott Rasmussen's Ground Floor Right and Ditte Haarlov Johnsen's One Day.

Sascha Paladino's Throw Down Your Heart took top honours in the Music Documentary Award strand, Margaret Brown's The Order Of Myths won the Cinematic Vision Award and Gina Reticker's Pray The Devil Back To Hell took the Witness Award.

Kief Davidson's Kassim The Dream won the American Film Market/SILVERDOCS Award while the Writers Guild Of America Documentary Screenplay Award went to Anna Broinowski's Forbidden Lie$.

In the audience awards, Megumi Sasaki's Herb & Dorothy took home the feature prize while Oscar Perez' The Tailor won the Audience Award. The Animal Content In Entertainment grant went to Michael Webber's The Elephant In The Living Room.
