Organisers at the 15th Slamdance Film Festival have signed a deal with online distributor Indieroad.net to stream features two hours after their theatrical premiere at the festival.

Viewers will be charged $9 per stream with one-third of profits going back to the film-maker. Each selection will be available in two bandwidths and films will be encrypted to protect against piracy.

'Streaming the Slamdance Festival with Indieroad.net allows our showcase to be shared with a much wider audience and increases value of both film and film-maker out of the gate,' Slamdance co-founder Peter Baxter said.

The 15th Slamdance Film Festival is scheduled to run from January 15-23, 2009.
