Making his directorial debut, Marcus Warren will commence principal photography on UK thriller The Heavy from May 20.

Shooting in and around London for six weeks, utilising many of the Capital's major landmarks, The Heavy stars former champion boxer Gary Stretch (Dead Man's Shoes, Alexander) as a down on his luck ex-con, forced to do dirty jobs for unscrupulous businessman Anawalt (Stephen Rea) before finally given the chance to pay off all his debts with one big job a murder.

Vinnie Jones (Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, X-Men: The Last Stand) co stars alongside Shannyn Sossaman (The Holiday), pop star Lee Ryan and music producer Adam F.

The Heavy is being executive produced by veteran producer John Daly and Mark Cellier, with first timers Marcus Warren and John Cairns producing for Contraption Limited production in association with Vertigo.
